Dagashi (snacks) are a very big thing in Japan – and Effects Bakery has been partnering with several companies in Japan like Suguru Foods. Their BIG KATSU is a tasty, crispy snack with a soft fried texture and a fragrant and rich flavor using an original sauce. Going all the way back to the Showa era, this unique snack has the appearance and taste of a breaded pork cutlet, or Tonkatsu. However, instead of using pork the BIG KATSU is made with surimi and flavored with various seasonings and a unique sauce to give it the special flavor.

Effects Bakery Suguru Foods’ Big Cutlet Distortion is a high gain distortion pedal that has plenty of gain on tap for your crunchy and thick tones reminiscent of post-rock or shoegaze styles. The thick yet crunchy tone adds a sound that is UK-based, yet still original and unique, just like the BIG KATSU. There is a firm thickness in the midrange flavor, and the low end rolls off just a little to help create a unique and sharp texture. And with our unique TONE control, your tone can be fine-tuned to bring you the most delicious taste possible.

Big Katsu Distortion

The Effects Bakery Plain Bread Compressor is a modern-sounding compressor that can make your sound more modern and manageable for guitar, bass, or any other instrument you can put through it.

This is a pedal that can give your sound extra, extra, extra flavor – by adding “repeats” or natural echoes. By using this pedal, you can give ambience, depth, and breadth to your sound. And thanks to all the quality ingredients used at EB, we can bring you this tasty French Bread delight at an attractive price.

Although the FBD uses the new industry standard “mini-pedal” format, we still use large size knobs for ease of control and visibility.
Delay times can be up to 500ms, a half-second of pure analog-sounding delay. Recreating tape echoes and analog delay pedal sounds is easy, and these sorts of sounds give the player support to help push their notes forward into the mix without sounding thin. You can adjust the delay time by turning the TIME knob, and easily change the number of repeats (echoes) with the REPEAT knob.

French Bread Delay

Bass players need love too, and our new Maritozzo Bass EQ graphic equalizer is a way to bring new flavors out of your bass rig. With a five-band EQ controlled by sliders, a VOL control for your input level and a MASTER for your output volume, all the sweetness of tone is under your fingertips. Each of the five EQ sliders can be boosted/cut in a wide range of plus/minus 18dB at 62.5hz, 125hz, 500hz, 1khz, and 4khz. All the faders have a detent in the center so you can quickly return the settings to “flat” without having to look closely at the pedal (very handy for darker stages and rehearsals).

Maritozzo Bass EQ has a separate VOL and MASTER control setup to adjust your gain levels both inside and to the output. VOL adjusts the level of the entire EQ adjusted with the faders, and your final output level is adjusted with the MASTER. This makes it easy to adjust the volume level with the effect off and your tone that has been tonally adjusted within the EQ. This way, any extreme tonal changes can easily be compensated for by use of the VOL and MASTER controls to keep your sound consistent and level.
