15 years ago Robin Trower called me and said he was doing some gigs with Jack Bruce and asked "Would it be possible to have a wah wah in a regular box so that one could get that "fixed wah" sound by clicking on the pedal?" He's got the first one, I think I have the other one.

Recently Joe Satriani asked me for one, so I revisited the circuit adding a Volume Control, 3 selectable Range Modes (Wacked, Jimi, and Shaft) , a Pickup Compensator mini knob (humbucker guys rejoice!), and JFET input and output buffers. These buffers completely isolate the circuit from outside influence and are only in-play when the pedal is ON, giving it a much broader range of wah effect, interfacing with all types of PU's better, and working with any amp whether it be hi-gain or clean. Turns a Fender into a Vox, and allows infinite sustain with little or no Distortion.

Our Soul-Bender is based on the legendary Colorsound and Vox Series III ToneBenders made by Sola-Sound/England in the late '60's that was used by Beck and Page on much of their circa 1968-70 recordings.

Equipped with 3 gain-matched germanium transistor for a FAT, searing lead tone, I also made the Tone control response and range more usable and much less shrill sounding... Full clockwise is SMOOTH sounding.

The Soul-Bender cleans up when you back-off on the guitar's volume control. This pedal has tons of tonal character and even harmonics and of course, true bypass w/ LED is included with every one.

v2 is a huge improvement in the way the 3rd transistor is biased, making every single one consistently epic sounding!

The OCD pedal is the only pedal that uses 2 x Mosfets configured as hard-clipping to 'Voltage reference" instead of the usual way: to ground." The earliest OCDs used 2 x Mosfets plus 1 x Germanium diode, but very quickly these diodes became harder and harder to find, and they became expensive.

Recently I stumbled across a reasonably large stash of the right kind of Germanium diodes so I ponied-up and bought all of them. So I decided to do a run of the ultimate OCD: a Custom Shop offering with a few circuit tweaks using 2 x Mosfets plus 2 x Germanium diodes, and one hell of a beautiful paint job... Metallic Teal with a chrome undercoat! This beauty morphs between blues and greens depending on the light and angle. And what would the ultimate OCD be without a Blue LED? The sound?
