The Special Request is a true tone enhancer. This pedal is a single knob boost, but there’s so much more going on with it.

The Special Request features a moderate amount of boost, and is based on the circuitry that is found in some of the world’s most expensive amplifiers. You know which ones we’re talking about, right? The ones that regularly sell for prices nearing $100,000. Let’s just say that their prices aren’t so Humble…and that’s where this D-Style FET Preamp comes into the picture! Some of those amps have a FET and a Normal input. The FET input is truly special. There’s a FET based preamp between the guitar, and the first gain stage. The Special Request is based on that circuitry.

Special Request

he TarPit Integrated Circuit Fuzz Machine is the newest release from Greer Amps. This pedal was created out of the desire to have the sound and feel of a vintage Muff style fuzz, with grit, and grind that will sustain for days. Based on the vintage Big Muff Pi variant that utilizes two integrated circuits, with some Greer Amps tweaks (not the standard 4 transistor version), the Tarpit has all of the sounds that one might expect from a Muff style fuzz, and so much more.

The Tarpit is built in a rugged powdercoated aluminum enclosure, with printed graphics, designed by Nick DePartee (an awesome graphic designer, and former guitarist for the band Kutless). We chose the most awesome metallic blue powdercoat color that we could track down, and had the graphics set in black and white. The Tarpit features custom Oxblood control knobs by Davies (these knobs are currently available in a limited supply).

TarPit Fuzz

The very idea for the Lamplighter Optical Compressor is rooted in legendary tone and studio lore. The Lamplighter is the result of countless hours of tweaking, listening, and tweaking again. You asked for it…we went to work…it’s wonderful.

The Black Tiger Delay Device is an amazing delay pedal. What would happen if you took the sound of two vintage tape delays, and sprinkled in a bit of sound from a vintage oil-can delay? Well…you’d be in delay heaven, or at least we think so. So, that’s what we did! After countless requests for a Greer Amps delay, we’ve finally answered the call. We took the time to engineer this delay to have the sound and feel of those vintage delays, with some added touch sensitivity. The front end of the Black Tiger is structured in a way that lets the nuances of your playing come through. If you’re looking for a delay that has the warmth of vintage studio equipment, with some slight grain on the repeats, then look no further. The Black Tiger is the answer.

The Tomahawk Deluxe Drive is a great medium gain “second stage” overdrive pedal. This beauty barks and snarls, but it can also lean back and simply shift your tone just a bit. This pedal CAN RUN ON 9 AND 18 VOLTS. Now that we’ve addressed that, let’s talk about some of the characteristics of this pedal. This pedal has a purposeful EQ shift that puts it squarely in the “tweed” type tonal range. At 9 volts, it compresses slightly, like the big box tweed amps do, but still has some stiffness to it, just like those wonderful tone boxes did. At 18 volts, this beauty has increased headroom, AND becomes a bit more stiff, in a lovely way. The Tomahawk is a touch sensitive, dynamic recreation of this classic sound that has a natural and instantly familiar drive texture found on classic albums from so many genres.
