The analog signal path of the Maxon FL-9 Flanger pedal uses the Panasonic MN3207 BBD IC to create some of the richest, thickest flanging and time-delay effects possible. Rate, Depth, and Regeneration controls allow the user to dial in everything for shimmering chorus and vibrato to hollow, metallic overtones to thick, jet-like flanging sweeps. In addition to standard controls the FL-9 features a Delay Time knob that allows for a vast array of all-new spatial effects. Silent operation makes the Maxon FL-9 at home on the stage or in the studio.

Looking at the MAXON Limited Edition OD-9 Creamdrive circuit, you’ll realize that this is not some redesign being cleverly marketed as a reissue – this is THE original OD-9 (TS-9) circuit, yet with the addition of true bypass switching. Even the PC board is the same one that Maxon’s been using for the past 30+ years, complete with empty slots where parts for the FET switching circuit have been left out!

OD 9 Creamdrive

PAC-9 Pure Analog Chorus

Designed in homage to classic 70’s distortion modulators such as the Flying Pan and Jetlyzer (both of which Maxon designed and built for Ibanez), the VJR-9 Vintage Jet Riser creates a Doppler jet effect so realistic you can almost feel the wind in your hair.

Rather than sticking with the old-school Jet design of phase shifter into distortion, the VJR-9 features an analog Bucket-Brigade Flanger as the modulation source to add a more realistic depth of field to the effect.  Speed and Width controls allow adjustment of the flanging from slow takeoff to sonic boom.

Can a pedal be considered a clone if it’s made by the company that made the original?!?  Maxon designed the original OD808 overdrive circuit in the late 1970’s – they then rebranded this pedal for Ibanez as the TS808 Tubescreamer, and the rest is history...

The OD808 Reissue offers up all the warm, creamy, organic overdrive as the original and then some.  Never one to rest on their laurels, Maxon has tweaked the current version ever so slightly to reduce noise level while retaining the legendary “808” tone.
