The PETE CORNISH SS-3™ is great for crunchy rhythm and a nice  thick bluesy lead; the sound is very much like an overdriven vintage valve amp. The SS-3™ is currently being used by Noel Gallagher of Oasis, and is also a firm favorite of David Gilmour of Pink Floyd and Lou Reed. It has the best bottom end retention ever heard in an effect, whilst the mid-range is sweet and very transparent. The SS-3™ retains all the tonal nuances of your guitar and will make it come alive. It is subtle and yet capable of amazing power and sustain. Using the SS-3™ with a clean amp it is possible to progress from subtle overdriven amp sounds, through rhythmic crunch, up to a blues’ lead. The tonal characteristics and dynamics of the guitar are maintained even when using this pedal at its maximum gain.

Our low noise discrete component Class A pre-amplifier has been specifically designed to overcome the problems often encountered with amplification of Electric Instruments fitted with magnetic transducers.

A frequent cause of these problems is the mismatch of the impedance in the electrical circuit between the pickup and subsequent equipment: this mismatch has been completely eliminated with the introduction of our LD-1™ Line Driver.

The input impedance is identical to a high quality tube amplifier and our Class A Pre-amplifier also features a highly effective RF filter which will help prevent interference from nearby radio transmitters.

The BD-1™ is not a variant of any existing product but an entirely new and original design. Initially designed for Bass Guitar, the BD-1™ has also proved very popular with Baritone Guitars and dropped tuned Guitars when heavy overdrive is required at the lower frequencies of these instruments. With Germanium components for added musicality, this new design features full Bottom-End retention and is flat down to below the bottom B on five string basses.

The tone controls are very powerful and feature an active boost and cut with a combined range of 34dB at maximum settings. Being active, the two-tone bands can be both cut and boosted as desired, with the zero or neutral point being 12 o'clock on each control knob. I have included a second linear boost stage after the tone circuit to compensate for any reduction in overall volume when the tones are in “cut” mode.

The benefits of this active tone circuit, compared to the usual passive (Cut only) tone circuit, is that the two bands are completely independent and there is no interaction between the Bass and Treble tone controls. An output Master Volume is included to allow for perfect matching between bypassed and overdriven and EQ’d signal level and there is plenty of signal headroom available to overdrive amp inputs if required.

My well established Class A input buffer and radio frequency suppressor are, of course, included and the output buffer impedance is low to easily drive long cables or other loads without loss of signal or tone.
