Prometheus DLX

By analyzing the design, sound and physics of real spring tanks we captured the nuances of tube driven spring reverb. Even something as innocuous as unplugging your guitar cable (kerplangagnangang)  sounds like real deal. A tone control allows you to dial in the perfect timbre. There is also an internal reverb send trimmer serving two purposes- 1. It allows you to turn down for hotter input signals. 2. It does essentially what the dwell control does on an outboard reverb tank. You can turn it up for a more dramatic effect or back it off for subtlety.

Unlike a real spring tank the the decay knob allows you to dampen the springs for shorter reverb or bend the laws of physics resulting in long psychedelic resonating trails.

The clean signal path is all analog. JFET amplifiers carryout the send and recovery of the reverb signal for even more tube like dynamics. The Super Spring Theory is equally at home in front of a clean or dirty amp.

Super Spring Theory

The Quasar DLX is back in black. The original LFO waveforms return, with improvements in the phaser’s tone and usability.

Like many classic designs the heart of the Quasar DLX mkII is an analog 4 stage OTA based phaser. This phaser is made special by the features and functionality possible only with digital control. Eleven LFO shapes ranging from the tried and true sine and triangle waves to random sample/hold and even an argyle waveform. (Yes you read that right! Argyle!)

Quasar DLX

The Gurgle and Moan is an envelope filter effect. This is a prototype pedal, and it does have some quirks and rough edges. On a few of them that we have built they oscillate with the resonance knob cranked. Also there is a bit of a "gurgle" in the background due to some crosstalk issues with the control voltage circuitry. I thought it sounded cool, although it may not be what everyone wants in a filter. 

This is a prototype pedal, and has no artwork, or labeling on the face of the pedal. There is a sticker on the back with a brief explanation of what the knobs do.

Controls
Lower right knob: Shape - Varies the shape of the filter from band pass or low pass.
Lower left knob: Resonance - Accents the cut off frequency of the filter. (At max setting it may oscillate)
Upper right knob: Depth- Varies how far your playing dynamics will modulate the filter cutoff frequency.
Upper left knob: Frequency - Varies the cut off frequency of the filter

Warranty: If it ever breaks send it back to us and we will fix it, unfortunately we no longer cover polar bear attacks, alien abduction, willfully destroyed pedals, or any claims involving time travel or toaster repair.

This pedal can be powered by a 9V battery or a standard boss style barrel plug adaptor. Has an LED, True bypass, and a powder coated finish for durability.

Gurgle & Moan

The Stupid Box from Sub-Decay Studios. This stomp box is not very intelligent, but works as a super versatile distortion. The Stupid Box employs soft clipping just like vintage tube screamers, but driven much harder and with a full range frequency response. This Dumb Box can go from high gain to blues, with a twist of the gain knob.

What's it all about?

If you play a clean open cab 6L6-based amp, and don't want to give up your great clean tone, but have always been jealous of those guys with the half stacks, the stupid box is what you have been waiting for. If you play a 2 channel high gain amp, and struggle for those in-between tones this is a great pedal to have as well. The Stupid Box has a variable frequency filter unlike most distortion boxes which only let you control the roll off, making it much easier to match the pedal to the natural voicing of your amp.
