Many of the wah-wah pedals produced over the decades are very different from each other. And then there are related effects – like the underrated (we think) yoy-yoy pedal. When we designed Gull, we wanted to bring you the very best that history has to offer – and then some.


Gull gives you two distinct wah-wah sounds – a light wah that’s great for clean guitars and rhythm parts and a heavy, smoking wah for distorted leads – plus the unique dual-filter yoy-yoy effect. Yoy-yoy is a basically a wah effect with an ultra-high-frequency sweep soaring overhead. It’s an incredibly rich sound.

A classic SLOPE knob lets you shape the character of your wah/yoy sweep, and a BOOST function lets you set a higher volume for your output signal when you kick your Gull into action.

Mit dem T-Rex Alberta II Dual Overdrive Pedal hat man zwei Zerrer in einem Kasten. Die Regelmöglichkeiten sind absolut identisch, allerdings unterscheiden sich die Grundsounds der beiden Einheiten leicht. Das macht auf jeden Fall Sinn, denn der erste Kanal bringt einen etwas stärker komprimierten Ton mit einer Ecke mehr Gain, während Channel 2 den offenen Overdrive mit viel dynamischen Reserven zelebriert. 

Alberta II’s channels are highly complementary, for a start. Set one up as your lead and the other up as your rhythm, and you can happily toggle between the two all night. Second, the pedal’s drives are eminently usable even when they’re dimmed; it’s impossible to overdo it. In a world where mega-distortion is the norm, that’s a huge boon.

You’ll think again when you’ve heard EMMIE, a new combination delay and boost effect from European boutique pedal manufacturer T-Rex Effects.

EMMIE is big in two ways. First, it delivers the best-sounding, fully adjustable delay you’re likely to hear outside a million-dollar studio. A delay that amplifies your impact by stretching it out over time and space.
It’s also big because a built-in signal booster lifts your sound straight out of the mix and towards the stratosphere whenever you kick your EMMIE into gear. But of course you can choose whether to add boost or not. It’s totally up to you.

Emmie delay & boost

The T-Rex Octavius is our take on this unusual and powerful effect. A tri-tone generator with a perfect set of controls and a brilliant BOOST function, Octavius gives you everything you could want in octave generation – plus incredible T-Rex tone.
Octavius lets you get that classic octave-down effect you’ll recognise from Hendrix’ “Machine Gun” and other recordings. But it also lets you add in a high octave so you can hit your audiences with a sonic wall of three-octave lead lines.
You can mix the octaves however you want to create your own signature sound. And the pedal features a controllable boost button to help you lift your solos up above the mix.

Octavius

The T-Rex Vulture started its life, when Michael plugged in one of the very first pedals we made. That pedal had a certain sound to it that we really liked, but it was a bit grungy in the low-end. We wanted to make a pedal with that sound, but with a tighter, less fuzzy low end and with more gain.
We opened up the pedal and painstakingly measured everything in it, to find out why it sounded so good, and found a couple of resistors that would be better with other values.
Was it modified earlier in life or was this just a very good sounding mistake from when it was made in Lars´ basement way back in the 90´s?
All we know is that the basic sound was cool and we left it at that, and went on to focus on getting the low-end tight - but BIG!
The fruit of our labor is a pedal that has a great, throaty distortion with a nice bite to it but the low end and low midrange can be shaped in many ways, thanks to the low- and fat-boost knobs. This allows the player to dial in almost stupid amounts of lows, but the distortion stays tight, not muddy.
