Das TC Electronic Plethora X5 der dänischen Effektschmiede vereint die Vorzüge der beliebten hauseigenen Toneprint-Pedale mit der Praktikabilität einer vollen Multieffekteinheit. Das Pedalboard kommt dabei in sehr handlichen Maßen, bietet fünf zuweisbare Slots für die TC-Effektpedale mit bis zu 75 Toneprints und kann sogar durch die Vier-Kabel-Methode mit einem Amp eingesetzt werden.

The TC Electronic Plethora X5 from the Danish effects manufacturer combines the advantages of the popular in-house Toneprint pedals with the practicality of a full multi-effects unit. The pedalboard comes in very handy dimensions, offers five assignable slots for the TC effect pedals with up to 75 Toneprints and can even be used with an amp through the four-cable method.

The VPD1 vintage pre-drive pedal is a lot more than just an overdrive. With the additional boost section, top and mid boost, remote control, and a vintage-type speaker simulation, VPD1 is a genuinely versatile guitar pedal. Our scientists designed the VPD1 to reproduce warm driven vintage tones that you would normally only get from a tube amp with the master volume turned all the way up.

Simplicity, great sound, and timeless design make up the holy trinity of the VPD1 vintage pre-drive pedal. This pedal is all about bringing out the best in your favorite guitar/amp setup without any unwanted coloring of tone or quality-compromising add-ons. VPD1 would therefore serve as an excellent companion for the G-System from TC Electronic. The basic drive section delivers a distinguished vintage overdrive allowing every characteristic of your instrument to shine through. When you kick in the boost section, you get a saturated lead sound with plenty of gain and sustain. Additional features on the boost section are the Top and Mid boost emphasis filters that let your tone really cut through.

VPD-1 Vintage Pre Drive

In Betrieb genommen wird das TC NOVA durch Einstecken des Netzkabels. Schade, denn ein Netzschalter wäre hier sicher eine nicht zu kostspielige und bequemere Art gewesen. Schon beim ersten Durchsteppen der Presets zeigt sich ein angenehm harmonischer und gut durchsetzungsfähiger Grundsound. Das von TC Electronic benannte NDT-System (NOVA DRIVE TECHNOLOGY) für Distortion-Sounds kann überzeugen und liefert, egal ob im nur leicht crunchigen Betrieb oder bei hohen Verzerrungsgraden, jederzeit ein sauberes, matschfreies und dynamisches Klangbild. Auch die Modulationseffekte wie Chorus, Delay und Reverb können überzeugen und bieten mit ihren reichhaltigen Parametern eine sehr hohe klangliche Dichte, wenn gleich man sich beim tieferen Editieren schon durch ein mehrseitiges Menü hangeln muss. Doch das kann sich lohnen, wie etwa beim Intelligent Pitch-Shifter, der nach Eingabe der entsprechenden Tonart immerhin mit bis zu dreistimmigen Voicings (und das ohne eine spürbare Latenz beim spielen) aufwarten kann.
