The DS-1 Distortion was introduced in 1978 as part of the second wave of compact pedals. With its edgy attack and smooth sustain, it won over guitarists around the world and shaped the sound of numerous rock legends. This enthusiasm continues to this day and makes the DS-1 the best-selling BOSS pedal of all time. To mark 40 years of BOSS pedal innovations, we have now released a special edition of the DS-1, the black housing of which is decorated with gold letters and which attracts attention with gold-plated controls and a wing screw in vintage silver for closing the battery compartment in the pedal board and in the display case. The pedal is packaged in an elegant box with the 40-year BOSS anniversary logo and is only available in 2017.
