Geranium Germanium Drive

OVERDRIVE
FUZZ

Description

Is a tube screamer or rat clone not really your thing? Are most fuzzes too unreliable for you? Check out the Geranium Germanium Drive. An original design combining a single NOS germanium transistor with op amps, the Geranium goes from a medium drive to full-on fuzz with all the lovely colors germanium brings to the table. The Geranium uses noiseless relay switching and has 5 controls: Level, Scoop, Drive, Bias, and Bright. The drive varies from light to heavy, but can be pushed even harder if you employ another boost before it. It operates on 9V, but boosts that internally to 32V, giving maximum power to the op amp stages in order to really drive the germanium transistor. The Scoop control allows you to scoop out some mids, if you so desire to have a little tighter sound. The Bias switch allows you to switch between two different voicings of the germanium stage, giving you even more tonal options. The bright switch adds highs back into the drive. So if you’re looking for a more unique drive, check out the demo video, or pick one for yourself!
