Super Black

The pedal is called Supreme because it simply excels in both tone and functionality. Supreme was born in collaboration with the world famous tone connoisseur Matt Schofield. Matt was looking after the best guitar overdrive tones possible and a specific functionality: two pedals in one, switching from one side to the other with just a single press on the switch.

The tones were set for a great all around boost to low gain drive on the A side used mostly on a neck pickup. The A side is heavily based on our famous Royal Blue Overdrive pedal. And for the B side a fat dynamic tone containing some ”power amp” response with a lot of headroom. The B side is a completely new design and is used mostly on a bridge pickup. This is the way Matt prefers to use the Supreme pedal.

Mad Professor Loud'n Proud ist ein Vintage Marshall mit 4 Eingängen in einer Box. Es ist ein kompaktes Pedal, in dem ein kompletter Verstärker-Signalweg nachgebildet ist. Nicht nur der Vorverstärker, sondern auch die Endstufe mit Phaseninverter, Push-Pull-Stufe und Ausgangsübertrager-Simulation. Durch diese interne Struktur klingt das Pedal nicht nur wie ein echter Verstärker, sondern verhält sich auch so.

Und wie ein klassischer Marshall-Verstärker hat das Pedal einen moderaten Gain-Anteil. Das hat uns dazu veranlasst, diesem Overdrive-Schaltkreis mit mittlerer Verstärkung einen Boost/Fuzz hinzuzufügen. Der Pre-Boost kann 13 dB anheben, was dem Pedal eine schöne Menge an Gain verleiht. Er verdickt auch die Mitten ein wenig, also experimentiere ruhig mit dem Boost, um eine andere Klangfarbe für den Gesamtton des Pedals zu erhalten. Der Fuzz ist so konzipiert, dass er wie ein Vintage-Germanium-Fuzz funktioniert. Wenn man das Fuzz einschaltet, kann man eine große Vielfalt an Tönen finden, von einem cleanen Ton bis zu einem dicken und warmen Fuzz-Ton, indem man einfach die Lautstärke der Gitarre dreht. Das Vintage Germanium Fuzz + Marshall Plexi ist eine klassische Klangkombination, die wir unbedingt in das Loud 'n Proud Pedal integrieren wollten!

Mad Professor Loud´n Proud is a vintage 4-input Marshall in a box. It’s a compact pedal with a complete amp signal path replicated inside. Not only the preamp but also the power amp containing phase inverter, push-pull stage, and output transformer simulation. This internal structure makes the pedal not only sound but also behave like a real amp.

And like a vintage Marshall amp, the pedal has a moderate amount of gain. This is what led us to adding a boost/fuzz to this medium gain overdrive circuit. The pre boost has the capability of pushing 13dB, which adds a nice amount of gain to the pedal. It also thickens the midrange a bit so feel free to experiment with the boost also for a different voicing for the overall tone of the pedal. The fuzz is designed to work like a vintage germanium fuzz. By engaging the fuzz you can find a great variety of tones from a clean tone to a thick and warm fuzzy tones just by rolling the guitar volume. The vintage germanium fuzz + Marshall plexi is a classic tone combination that we absolutely wanted to include to the Loud ´n Proud pedal!
