Red Menace

FUZZ
OVERDRIVE

Description

The Red Menace is one of the first, modified, muff circuits I did that combines two of my favorite muffs, the early Red Army Overdrive and the 1972 Triangles. The low end has the perfect balance of low-end and clarity. You can feel the punch of the bass notes cutting through the fuzz. The high strings have a sweet, high-gain, sustain just like the later Triangle pedals. While adding the mids control I also had to modify the circuit to keep the original punch on chords and the smooth, singing tone on leads.
