Not surprisingly, the Latvian synth specialists found their answer with NightVerb. Housed in an elegant aluminum chassis, boasting eye-catching aesthetics and ergonomically satisfying tactility, NightVerb prioritizes the intersection of spatial and musical possibilities of reverb effects. Erica Synths deploys its custom-designed DSP engine, tapping the good folks at 112dB to develop an electrifying stereo reverb algorithm. Complete with true stereo I/O, MIDI in and thru ports, a footswitch jack, and a suite of detailed controls, Sweetwater’s sound designers find NightVerb to be an unbridled sandbox of multidimensional possibilities, spanning subterranean sonics and cavernous echoes to evocative swells and dynamic space-shaping snaps. Its 12 parameters can be controlled entirely via MIDI CC, with 2-way MIDI communication augmented by one of its most inspiring capabilities: a freeze function that features chromatic tuning and full MIDI playability. By focusing on the preservation of harmonic character, even the longest decays won’t fizzle out, allowing you to conjure musical magic as deep as the night.
