Das Fender The Pelt Fuzz-Pedal gehört zu einem bunten Strauß an neuen Pedalen, den der amerikanische Hersteller im Herbst 2018 vorstellt. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Siliziumtransistor-Fuzz mit großzügigen Regeloptionen. Auch wenn man Fuzzpedalen mit Germaniumtransistoren, wie den frühen Fuzz Faces oder dem Analogman Sun Face einen weicheren Ton und mehr Vintage-Feel nachsagt, zeigt es sich, dass Silizium-Pedale wie z.B. die neueren Big Muffs aktuell ebenso beliebt sind.

A silicon fuzz pedal for modernists less bothered by the a hallowed land of Germanium, we were especially taken with the versatility afforded by the Blend control. Combined with a great range of drive it would make an ideal first fuzz for newcomers or those yet to be convinced. And it turns out Chris Buck is a fan of The Pelt too.

Fender haben mit dem Shields Blender ein auf 700 Stück limitiertes Signature-Fuzz-Pedal für den My-Bloody-Valentine-Gitarristen und Shoegaze-Pionier Kevin Shields vorgestellt. Das Pedal basiert auf dem Fender Blender aus den 70er-Jahren, fügt diesem einen Octave-Up-Schalter hinzu.
