Anyone who's had the pleasure of turning a tube-amp all the way up knows all too well just how good their sound can get. Hit a chord and you're not just hearing notes any more, but a rich tapestry of complex overtones. If you have a good ear, you could even sing along to them... A little more compact, much lighter, and maybe a little less unruly than a valve amp but able to do all of the above, is the Fulltone OCD overdrive. The Wide Open, OCD Sound
With other, merely-mortal overdrive pedals, you're often forced to sacrifice a mass of dynamics and run the risk of suffocating your tone with a flat-sounding blanket. The remarkably open sounding Fulltone OCD, however, is gifted with an awesome dynamic response and colours everything in with rich and sparkling overtones, just like any great amplifier. Ultimately, this incredibly durable stompbox retains the actual sound of your guitar with an insane level of sensitivity - just try the LP (low peak) setting and you'll immediately understand what we mean.

Custom Shop OCD (Red)

The OCD was the first pedal to use Mosfets as clipping devices. Another first was their configuration as "hard clippers connected to v-ref" instead of to ground, as was the norm. These things contribute greatly as to why the OCD has such touch-sensitivity...why they react so well when the strings are hit hard or soft, and why they sound & feel different than all other pedals out there, 90% of which are just slight tweaks of the Tube Screamer.
