Steve Vai, der wohl prominenteste Nutzer der amerikanischen Morley Pedale, hat sich mit dem PLA Volumenpedal ein nach seinen Vorstellungen funktionierendes Pedal auf den Leib schneidern lassen. Im Gegensatz zu den meisten erhältlichen Volumenpedalen besticht das Steve Vai PLA durch seine lineare Funktionsweise. Der Lautstärkezuwachs erfolgt demnach  gleichmäßig über den gesamten Pedalweg und nicht sprunghaft auf den ersten Zentimetern  wie  es bei Pedalen mit logarithmischer Funktionsweise üblich ist. Die feine Dosierbarkeit ist die große Stärke von Steve Vai´s Little Alligator. Eine weitere, äußerst praktische Funktion ist der Minimum Volumen Regler, der es zulässt, eine feste Volumeneinstellung bei geschlossenem Pedal vorzunehmen.

20/20 Power Fuzz Wah

Old Blue is more than just a pedal… It’s been Rex Brown’s trusty sidekick for over three decades. Rex first started collecting Morley pedals in his youth in the 1970’s and acquired his Pro Series II Wah “Old Blue” in the 1990’s. Since then, it hasn’t left his pedalboard. Old Blue has been used on countless gigs and on multiple Pantera albums, including The Great Southern Trendkill and Reinventing the Steel.

Old Blue is a modified recreation of Rex Brown’s Pro Series II Wah. It starts off using the same through-hole components and circuit layout as the original but has a modified sweep per Rex’s preference to sound like the original 1970’s Morley Wahs. The circuit is derived from Morley’s 1992 redesign, which introduced Switchless Activation and converted their classic Wah circuits to use modern optics. A key feature on this old school design is that it prevents any frequencies from being shaved off, which gives it an intense, monstrous sweep that’s found on Morley’s original 1970’s Wah pedals. It is also virtually immune to outside noise and EMI.

Other great features on Old Blue include Switchless Activation – just step on to activate and step off to bypass – a Wah Level control with 15 dBs of headroom, a Premium Buffer circuit, LED indication, and a Glow-in-the-Dark treadle grip. Like all Morley pedals, it’s built like a tank with cold-rolled steel.
