Sawgrass Superfuzz
Description
The Sawgrass Superfuzz is a snarling, clangy chaos machine. Its core fuzz tone is tamed by a clean blend, an active bass and treble EQ, and a mid scoop. Based on the Univox Superfuzz and the Boss FZ-2, the Sawgrass incorporates the clean boost concept from the latter into a channel-selecting footswitch. This boost channel still runs through the preamp and the tone shaping circuits and can get crunchy at higher gain. Bring in some extra clarity with the clean knob on both the boost and the fuzz channels. The low and high controls are inspired by the FZ-2. The mids knob blends between the two "tone" positions available on the Superfuzz. Also featured are two toggle switches: the comp switch adjusts how much the clipping diodes affect the fuzz signal. Switch it down for a more open, dynamic tone. The oct switch alters how much of an octave effect is present in the fuzz tone. It's subtle in both positions - switch it down for more octave overtones (and more clang). Uses a Boss-standard center negative 9v DC adapter. True bypass. Made in the Florida Panhandle.
