Eine klassische Reproduktion des Colorsound Overdrivers von 1971.  Der Overdriver ist ein bass- und höhenverstärkender Overdrive, der praktisch identisch mit dem 18-Volt Colorsound Power Booster ist, der durch Dave Gilmour von Pink Floyd berühmt wurde.  Der einzige wirkliche Unterschied ist die Hinzufügung eines Lautstärkereglers, der das Pedal meiner Meinung nach viel brauchbarer macht.

Der Overdriver arbeitet hervorragend mit Röhrenverstärkern zusammen und liefert einen sehr sauberen und transparenten Overdrive in den unteren Gain-Bereichen und geht in den höchsten Gain-Einstellungen bis hin zu einem schweren Fuzz.  Der dynamische, offene Sound dieses Pedals hat es legendär gemacht.  Du kannst es allein für eine ganze Reihe von Sounds verwenden oder es als Overdrive und Fuzz/Distortion/Overdrive-Pedal einsetzen.  Kombiniere es mit dem 73 Ram's Head, um dich ins Gilmour-Ton-Nirwana zu bringen.

A classic reproduction of the 1971 Colorsound Overdriver.  The Overdriver is a bass and treble boosting overdrive that is a virtually identical to the 18 volt Colorsound Power Booster that was made famous by Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd.  The only real difference is the addition of a volume knob, which I feel make the pedal much more useable.

The Overdriver works great with tube amps to provide a very clean and transparent overdrive at the lower gain ranges and goes all the way to a heavy fuzz at the highest gain settings.  The dynamic open sound of this pedal has made it legendary.  You can use it on its own for a full range of tones or use it to overdrive and a fuzz/distortion/overdrive pedal.  Pair it with the 73 Ram’s head to get yourself to Gilmour tone nirvana.

Diese Black Russian Reproduktion ist weicher als sein amerikanischer Cousin und hat etwas weniger Sustain, behält aber den unverwechselbaren Big Muff Sound. Dieses Pedal hat tonnenweise Bässe und funktioniert gut mit Gitarre oder Bass.

Ein Schalter bietet drei Optionen für den Mittenbereich: Scooped (Standard) sowie flache und verstärkte Mitten.

This Black Russian reproduction is smoother than its American made cousin and has slightly less sustain, yet retains that unmistakable Big Muff sound. This pedal has tons of low end and will work well with guitar or bass.

A switch has been added for three mid-range options scooped (stock) as well as flat and boosted mids.

e Vick Audio V-2 basiert auf dem berühmten Pete Cornish G-2™ Verzerrer.   Normalerweise mache ich es mir zur Aufgabe, nur Reproduktionen von Pedalen zu machen, die vom Originalhersteller nicht mehr hergestellt werden, aber in diesem Fall habe ich beschlossen, eine Ausnahme zu machen, da die Originalgeräte so teuer und schwer zu finden sind.  

Das V-2 ist keine exakte Reproduktion des G-2, sondern weist einige Unterschiede auf, auf die ich gerne hinweisen möchte. Ich mag keine Pedale, die Buffer verwenden, wenn sie umgangen werden, also habe ich das V-2 zu einem echten Bypass-Pedal gemacht.  Der Eingangspuffer ist immer noch vorhanden, wenn das Pedal eingeschaltet ist, aber nicht, wenn es ausgeschaltet ist.  Ich habe nichts gegen Buffer, ich möchte nur, dass der Gitarrist die Wahl hat, ob und wann er Buffer in die Signalkette einbaut. 

Manche mögen das für ein Sakrileg halten, aber ich vermeide die Verwendung von Germanium-Komponenten.  Ich habe mich entschieden, Bat41 Silizium Clipping Dioden anstelle der originalen Germanium Dioden zu verwenden.  Ich weiß, dass viele Leute auf Germanium schwören, und vielleicht rührt meine Meinung daher, dass ich in einem so rauen Klima lebe (Arizona), aber ich finde die Inkonsistenz von Germanium inakzeptabel. 

e Vick Audio V-2 is based on the famous Pete Cornish G-2™ distortion unit.   Well usually I make it a point to only do reproductions of pedals that are no longer made by the original manufacturer I decided to make an exception in this case since the original units are so expensive and hard to find.  

The V-2 is not an exact reproduction of the G-2 but has some differences I would like to point out. I dislike pedals that use buffers when bypassed so I made the V-2 a true bypass pedal.  The input buffer is still present when the pedal is engaged but not when turned off.  I have nothing against buffers I just want the guitarist to have a choice if and when to put buffers in the signal chain. 

Some may consider this sacrilege but I avoid using germanium components.  I chose to use Bat41 silicon clipping diodes instead of the original germanium diodes.  I know many people swear by germanium and maybe my opinion stems from me living in such a harsh climate (Arizona) but I find the inconsistency of germanium unacceptable.

Mein persönlicher Favorit unter den von mir hergestellten Big-Muff-Repliken.  Der 73 Ram's Head ist dafür bekannt, dass er weicher als der 66 Triangle ist, aber mehr Schmutz als der Black Russian hat.  Was den 73 Ram's Head wirklich auszeichnet, ist das unglaubliche Sustain, das man mit diesem Pedal erhält.  Es wurde für Gitarristen entwickelt, die wollen, dass ihre Gitarre wie ein Kolibri singt, mit einem süßen, geigenähnlichen Sustain-Sound.  Mit dem Sustain-Regler kann man ein langes Sustain mit einem Hauch von harmonischer Verzerrung optimieren.  Hendrix verließ sich auf diesen Big Muff für seinen sanften, weichen Electric Lady-Sound.

My personal favorite of the Big Muff replicas I produce.  The 73 Ram's head is known to be smoother than the 66 Triangle but with more dirt then the Black Russian.  The thing that really sets the 73 Ram's Head apart is the incredible sustain you get with this pedal.  It is designed for the guitarist who wants his ax to sing like a hummingbird, with sweet violin-like sustaining sound.  The sustain control allows you to optimize long sustain with a hint of harmonic distortion.  Hendrix relied on this Big Muff for his smooth, mellow, Electric Lady sound.

73 Ram’s Head

Der R-Comp ist ein Nachbau des legendären Ross-Kompressors.  Die Original-Ross-Kompressoren wurden nur für ein paar Jahre in den späten 70er Jahren produziert.  Diese Geräte haben eine kultähnliche Anhängerschaft entwickelt, sind aber sehr teuer und extrem schwer zu finden.  Trey Anastasio von Phish behauptet, dass sein Ross Compressor, den er seit der High School benutzt, das Geheimnis seines Sounds ist.

Der R-Comp bietet die gleiche großartige Ansprache wie die Original-Ross-Geräte.  Er hat eine warme, natürlich klingende Kompression bei niedrigen Sustain-Einstellungen und öffnet Ihren Ton bei höheren Einstellungen.  Der R-Comp hat eine enorme Ausgangsleistung und hebt Ihr Signal sogar bei niedrigeren Sustain-Einstellungen über den Einheitswert an.

The R-Comp is a reproduction of the legendary Ross Compressor.  The original Ross Compressors were only produced for a few years in the late 70’s.  These units have developed a cult like following but are very expensive and extremely hard to find. The R-Comp will give you the same great response as the original Ross units.  It has a warm natural sounding compression at lower sustain settings and opens up you tone at higher settings.  It has tremendous output and will boost your signal above unity even at lower sustain settings.
